  Passage 5

In London, there are many famous tourist attractions. I had always wanted to pay a visit to the capital of England. Last week, I finally went there with my family.

On the morning of the first day, we went to the London Eye. I had seen the London Eye many times in movies. When I finally see it, you can imagine how excited I was! The London Eye has 32 capsules altogether. Each weighs 10 tons and holds up to 25 people. We climbed aboard for an amazing experience. Sitting in the capsule, we saw more than 55 London’s most famous tourist attractions in just 30 minutes.

In the afternoon, we went to the Tower of London. The Tower of London is one of the world’s most famous buildings with a history of 900 years. My family took a tour with a Yeoman Warder around it. Such a tour took us back to the history. But I felt a bit sad when traveling around it, as the Tower of London was once used as a prison.

On the second day, we mainly visited some museums in London. The first we visited was the British Museum. There we saw some amazing things such as the Rosetta Stone, the Partheon sculptures and the mummies in the Ancient Egypt collection. The second we visited was the Natural History Museum. The museum has a collection of the biggest, tallest abd rarest animals in the world. There we saw a large blue whale, a 40 million-year-old spider and the beautiful Central Hall.
